THE GROANING CREATION

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now Romans 8:22.

Lets back track a bit to the preceding verse, so that we have a picture of the above verse is all about.

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God Romans 8:21

So, we can see that the reason why God’s the creation is in travail is because of the heavy burden caused by the bondage of corruption.

Corruption is an ‘international citizen’, it doesn’t need a visa to enter any country.

Infact, Corruption resides in every nation. The degree of manifestation is the only thing that varies from one to another.

However, we are not just referring to its operation amongst human beings, but the decay, degeneration of “the foundations of the earth”.

They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course Psalm 82:5.

The foundations of the earth are spiritual in nature. These are God’s governing principles and law that regulate Nature.

God has empowered Man to operate these laws to govern the environment, atmosphere of the earth.

However, due to the fall, corruption has pervaded the air, spirit realm, which controls what ever happens in the physical realm.
The kind of authority, we see been exercised by natural Man, at best, is mental and physical dominion.

True dominion is spiritual while the ‘real’ spiritual dominion can only be found in Christ.

This is the reason why we have all sorts of natural disasters such earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, typhoons, hurricanes, cyclones etc: the foundations of the earth are out of course!!!

Natural disasters are manifestations of the disorder in the realm of the spirit.

While some are also caused by Man’s action on the environment (like some kinds of Air pollution caused by the emission of Man made machines into the atmosphere); most are caused because of the effect of ‘the fall’, which has brought disorder into God’s creation.

Cast your mind back to the Tsunami disaster in Asia and the flooding of New Orleans in the United States.

We can also refer to the Cyclone in Mymmar, Burma and recent earthquake in China.

Do you think God was responsible?

Absolutely Not, God is not only good, He is the source of all goodness and there is no evil in Him.

This then is the message which we have heard of him and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all I John1: 5.

What or who is responsible? The Devil. This may not surprise some people.

How, you may ask? satan, the prince of this world is the one, who through trickery obtained Adam’s God given authority ( spiritual in nature but manifesting in the natural) to rule on the earth.

He is the lawless one, who has distorted the “ foundations of the earth “

Recall when the wind and the waves of the seas wanted to drown the boat, Jesus and disciples were in?

And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed him,
And behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep.
And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

But the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him Mathew 8:22-27.

Who was responsible? Definitely, it wasn’t God. It was the prince of this world.

But there is good news. Jesus got back that authority, for us, when he defeated the devil by his death on the cross.

And having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him I say whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven Colossians 1:20.

Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out John 12: 31,John 14:30,John 16:11.

Cast out of where? Cast out of the position of dominion, belonging to Adam: Mankind.

Ruler ship over nature, the atmosphere is exercised from this spiritual position: even over the power of the air.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience Ephesians 2:2.

That’s the reason why; it’s only those in Christ that can exercise the legal right to set the foundations of the earth back on course.

I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High Psalm 82:6.John 10:34-35.

We are ‘gods’: heirs of God, empowered to ‘ speak to the wind’ (bring peace, order and righteousness to the world) and called unto glory.

And if children, then heirs: heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory, which shall be revealed in us Romans 8:17,18.

Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on the earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven Mathew 18: 18.

To exercise that authority in corporate prayer, see Mathew 18: 19-20.

We can now exercise this heaven-backed authority over satan, who is very conscious of this defeat and that he is “the failure”.

The devil is twice dethroned/defeated in the heavenlies: Cast out from his dominion as Lucifer, a former Archangel of God and the position he usurped from Man, through deception.

Whenever we face opposition by satan and his cohorts, we should always remember that they are all defeated spirits

We, the Church are God’s Occupation army, who police the earth from the heavens.

As God’s sent deliverers to the world, our domain covers every sphere of life i.e. the environment, social, political, economic, cultural, legal/legislative etc.

That’s why the creation groaneth: it has hope that “redeemers’ will come one day.

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope.
Romans 8:20

That’s you and me.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God Romans 8:19-20.
